default G1 Geomagnetic Storm / Solar Watch May 1st 2011

G1 Geomagnetic Storm: A solar wind stream hit Earth's magnetic field during the early hours of April 30th, Solar wind speeds exceeding 700km/s sparking a high-latitude geomagnetic storm. High-latitude sky watchers should remain alert for auroras. The solar wind speed is high and gusty, and NOAA forecasters estimate a 40% chance of more geomagnetic activity during the next 24 hours. @Zillamp3z 100%

  3. Zillamp3z

    is this true

  4. SolarWatcher

    @suedeu02 not these winds, solar winds are a stream of charged particles ejected from the upper atmosphere of the Sun. Coronal mass ejections are weather related events felt here on earth, these usually take 2-3 days to arrive.

  5. suedeu02

    @solarwatcher Are these winds anything to do with the Tornado in Albany Auckland today that killed 2 I believe and injured many? Cheers.

    Got something for ya. watch?v=0NjJJYemLt4 . Checkout the animation at the end. I believe it relates to the pedigree experienced. See the eclipse was not the issue it was the distance of the moon that caused Quake at Fukushima. What I wanna know is if they had the dates wrong or are we still to expect something on the dates they warn of. Will there be an eclipse of the moon across this latitude as they predict? It could mean a big quake in Japan or Yellowstone if so.

    good eye on her…thanks for reporting

  12. the26thhour

    @SolarWatcher – thank you 8)

  13. egott14

    its been awhile joe! good to see your still hard at work. we talked about duality before and the basis for this is becoming more obvious. be safe and thanks!

  14. ytcrittical

    thankyou for the update hope you are well

  15. SolarWatcher

    @the26thhour i avoid the stereo ahead and behind images for many reasons, but the main reason is the filtering and processing flaws associated with this service that will often give the illusion of all sorts of anomalies around the sun that may not really be anything other than computer generated

  16. SolarWatcher

    @trogerslucky1 possible significant earthquake i feel could be 10-24 degrees N Latitude , there is also a potential for some volcano activity at Yellowstone

  17. SolarWatcher

    @MrMBB333 Geomagnetic storms of this variety usually take 3-4 days to produce seismic activity

  18. trogerslucky1

    Where in your guesstimation would you believe any earthquake or volanoe will most likely appearing? First let me thank you for all you great information that you provide please do not quit…..Jax Florida

  19. the26thhour

    I’m guessing you look at every form of camera imagery on the SOHO site.
    Was wondering what your thoughts were on the green footage (infrared?), with the giant orbs & such to which they used to take down & put back up re-edited (missing the original footage of orbs) but now it seems they’ve just reduced the image quality to the point that you can’t really tell what you’re looking at anymore, besides the sun, of course 8)

  20. MrMBB333

    I would assume an earthquake between 6.5 and 7.5 to strike in the next 24 to 48 hours…..pattern I have been noticing…..have to wait and see

  21. puttincomputers

    dude! That is one big coronal hole!.

  22. Mee51

    Thanks. But wish you could speak slowly, my english is not the best….:-(

  23. SolarWatcher

    @moonhawk6 indeed lol
