@stephendouglas911 watch at 1:15. it`s called a damper – costs few bucks even here in Ukraine,Europe. Greetings and good luck :)
Your videos are pretty interesting, I”d like to build one. I live in Canada and have one question regarding the heat flow in the evenings (ie no sun) and in winter. At night or in the winter what stops the warmer house air escaping to the outside air.
That’s awesome. Thanks for sharing!
Well done Rich. I wonder if you even need the pop cans in the downspout. I suppose they add some turbulence to the air flow which might assist in heat transfer.
Not trying to shoot you down…but also you should ditch the downspout. You’re better of having the outside surface area of the cans as the collector. Having more metal IN THE CANS is where the money is. Stuff them with anything metal…doesn’t matter what. More metal in the cans the better.
You’re losing a fuckload of heat with that metal header..lose the header. Keep it wood. Just use a little galvanized valley flashing over top of the finished unit. More than good enough for rain run off. Less metal on the outside of the unit…more metall on the inside.
You da man Rich
I am going to do mine this way!!!
Thanks for the vid and KEEP ROCKING THE MULLET!!!!
Nice going, Rich. I like it.
Looks like the old radiator in my last apartment.
That Is so smart I’m in hvac and that would be sweet to warm up a band room
Thermal mass. Like using stone or brick or some such thing to take in heat and slowly release it.
so cool. i want to make something like this for a vw bus.
that is a great inovation and so do-able.
some heat storage and your half way there
thanks
laterre52, look up “passive solar”. to store heat for night you could do something as simple as barrels of water in the room that is heated by this during the day.
Great idea I will like to make one but has anyone found a way to store the heat for nightime use? is it posible to do that?
The north of mexico gets cold ? hmmm…Sorry I did not know that.
heheh very funy hehe
did u know that on the north
is os cold that the water becomes ice…
:(
What the hell do you need one of these in Mexico for ? What are you gonna fill it with ice and use it for AC ? LL !!!
