Too weird to be believed: a new planet in the solar system? – Bye Bye Planet Pluto – BBC science

Astronomers have a massive breakthrough as they discover a weird and very bright extraordinary object in the far reaches of our solar system. Is it a planet? Is it a block of ice? Whatever it is, it’s bigger than Pluto. Fascinating science video from BBC Horizon show ‘Bye Bye Planet Pluto.’

@wrylie188 At guy is just a narrator dude. He’s just putting it in a way to let you know it’s very far away from the Solar System.
at 1:47 did he seriously say: “Miles from where the other planets lived?” oh my gd this guy CANNOT be an astronomer.
i Want to know more…:(
2012 lol
Who cares how big or small Pluto is, it still has a moon or moons. Its probably the same size as Mercury, oops I suppose me saying that Mercury might get struck off the planet list as well. Just wait until the NASA spacecraft arrives there and then we will know how big Pluto is, the spacecraft is only half way there if that.
Does it fucking matter what you call it? Other than its significance of orbiting the sun, what really matters is the science, not the fucking label……………..
Well, there’s was a couple of psychics that predicted the finding of this new planet soon!
get over what?
@Jasonater1 Neither does HE, Damnit…
alien mothership with asthar sharon on bord =D
Naw just kiddin …
I dont know what is true and what is not anymore
@OfnirNine NIBURU DOES NOT EXIST. Jesus fucking CHRIST.
@EmperorofCartoons his glib “get over it” line makes you appear correct. makes it seem like he does not want something examined, lest his legacy be nullified. very unscientific and unprofessional imo.
@danielvlee Touche, you are correct sir. And yeah, I realize its just an opinion about the guy, but somehow, he just gives off that “vibe” to me. He is a smart guy, no doubt, but if you watch some of the documentaries he did, he just seems kinda stuck on himself.
@EmperorofCartoons Wizened is a real word, but you are using it wrong. You said, “…glad we shriveled up and stopped listening to that dumbass.” Otherwise, you might be right on your opinion. IDK.
does this make niburu the nineth planet?
Pluto has 3 moons (Charon, Nix & Hydra). It is therefore large enough to have sufficient gravitation to keep moons in orbit. At 3824km diameter, its 4x larger than the largest asteroid in the belt, Ceres. Of the thousands of named asteroids, none have yet been found to have moons The combined mass of all asteroids in the belt is less than 6% that of Pluto. But Pluto has only 66% of the mass of our Moon. Really, it is neither a planet nor an asteroid. Its something else. a Dwarf Planet perhaps?
@JAD3889 To gain wisdom. The phrase is usually misspelled “wised up”.
@JAD3889 Yes, its a real word.
” GET OVER IT “
if it is true that we have already 10 planets, the new history is made!
@EmperorofCartoons wizened?
@OldeFarquer That dude’s claim to fame is busting Pluto down from its planetary status. He doesnt want anything that might be a planet found out there cause it might reinstate Pluto and he’d go from the man who changed our solar system to “That guy who convinced us for a short time that Pluto wasn’t a planet, glad we wizened up and stopped listening to that dumbass.”.
I bet it’s inhabitable :P
@Plaseo59 yer good point but meh
@ImSuperhuman I don’t know too much about the universe or our solar system, in general, so tell me to go fuck myself if you want.
But, why do we have to assume that all alien life, has the same necessities as us? Is it wrong to assume that a frozen planet, without water, cannot harbor any life at all? Why does it have to be carbon based, as well?
